CitiPower and Powercor Australia

415 vehicles

1,785 tonnes of CO2-e

CitiPower and Powercor are electricity distribution businesses in Victoria.   We own and manage the poles, wires and equipment that deliver power to more than one million customers in Melbourne, its inner suburbs and through central and western Victoria.

We are responsible for the quality and reliability of the power we deliver to our customers, and for the safety of the infrastructure that delivers it.

While delivering this vital service to Victorians is our priority, we are also committed to the principles of sustainable development and to managing our business in an environmentally and socially responsible way.

As part of that commitment, we are proud to partner with Greenfleet to offset the emissions of our light fleet each year.

With electricity assets and depots spread across half the state, and with employees often working from more than one location on a regular basis, the light fleet is an integral part of our business.

We recognise, however, that the associated greenhouse emissions are significant. In 2009, the 415 vehicles that comprise our light fleet emitted 1,785 tonnes of CO2-e.

Greenfleet will plant 6,659 native trees as part of its biodiverse forest sink program in 2010 in order to offset these emissions.
