Price increase - Effective as of May 1, 2017

We wish to advise you that Greenfleet will be increasing the price of offsets for individual supporters from May 1, 2017. Our prices have remained unchanged since 2012, however as a not-for-profit organisation we don’t have large margins to absorb increasing input costs.

Your contribution to Greenfleet covers:

  • sourcing appropriate land around Australia
  • site assessments, measurements and mapping
  • securing carbon rights
  • identifying locally native vegetation species
  • sourcing seed and growing seedlings
  • planting seeds or seedlings
  • regularly monitoring forest growth
  • replanting on sites if losses mean that carbon commitments will not be met
  • administration and marketing

All these activities are vital to provide a high-quality offset program which allows us to meet our commitment to recapture carbon on behalf of our supporters.

Thank you for choosing to offset greenhouse gas emissions with Greenfleet. We appreciate your support and commitment to reducing the impact of climate change and improving our degraded landscape.

And remember, avoiding and reducing greenhouse gas emissions will help your budget as well as the environment. Not only will you save money on fuel and energy bills, you’ll also need to spend less to offset your carbon emissions – a double win for your bottom line.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • turn off lights and appliances at the switch when not in use
  • adjust heating and cooling controls by setting your thermostat to 18-20°C in winter and 26°C in summer
  • insulate walls, ceilings and under the floor to maintain indoor temperatures
  • take public transport, walk or cycle instead of taking the car

And, there are plenty of other tips on the Greenfleet website to help you avoid and reduce emissions.

From May 1, 2017, the cost for individuals to offset one metric tonne of CO2-e is $15.

So, to offset the emissions of a medium-sized car for one year it will now cost $64.50. That’s less than $1.25 a week - what else can you do for the environment for just $1.25 per week? Head over to our offsets page to take climate action today.

And remember, as a registered charity, donations to Greenfleet of $2 or more are tax-deductible.
