What hiring a General Manager Engagement means for Greenfleet’s supporters

In 2018, Greenfleet is reaffirming our commitment to our supporters – starting with the creation of a new management position, General Manager Engagement.

We’re thrilled to announce that Dr Alison Milfull has started in the role in February.

Alison has extensive experience in marketing, digital and communications management, having worked across the conservation, arts, higher education and private sectors. She brings cutting-edge knowledge and marketing expertise to support Greenfleet’s mission.

Alison is keen to amplify the work of Greenfleet through on-going marketing strategy development, application of commercial marketing principles, and supporting Greenfleet’s digital transformation.

“Many organisations focused on driving conservation action have a focus on behaviour change theory and a bit of a formula for engagement, but I’ve seen the difference it makes when for-purpose organisations use proven marketing and digital tactics,” Alison said.

“When the goal is to increase awareness, reach new audiences and communicate the value of donations, it makes sense to use a mix of tried and true, and innovative new methods of engaging and attracting supporters,” she said.

Greenfleet CEO, Wayne Wescott, says that Alison’s joining the team is an important step forward for the organisation’s ongoing engagement strategy.

“Our loyal and environmentally-concerned supporters are the cornerstone of our organisation. They underpin Greenfleet’s success. Without their committed financial support, there would be no Greenfleet,” Wayne explained.

“We are inspired by our supporters’ impact through their real climate action with Greenfleet. We look forward to strengthening our relationships, to engage in genuine conversations and in turn, inspire each and every one of them to spread the word about their environmental commitments,” he added.

Alison, who has worked as General Manager Marketing at Zoos Victoria and Digital Relationship Director at leading global technology company Squiz, said she was joining Greenfleet because of a shared commitment to real climate action.

“I’m passionate about the environment and ensuring we take urgent steps to protect our climate, so I’m excited about working with Greenfleet to address a very real problem.

“There’s a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness in Australia and New Zealand of the great work that’s already being done by the Greenfleet team and our corporate and individual supporters, and to significantly grow engagement with climate action,” she said.
