As part of their commitment to sustainability and creating a better future for our environment, Miele has partnered with Greenfleet to grow the Miele Forest at Ledcourt in Victoria.
Thanks to Miele’s contributions in 2023 and 2024, they are growing two hectares of biodiverse native Australian forest, protected for 100 years.
This forest is growing on Jardwadjali & Djabwurung Country in Central Victoria, adjacent to the northern part of the Grampians National Park. Previously cleared for sheep and cattle grazing, Ledcourt is being revegetated to restore biodiversity and extend habitat for native wildlife.
With some remnant native vegetation already present on the site, Greenfleet worked to restore the cleared areas and bolster the existing ecosystems. We planted ground cover species, flowering plants to attract birds, bees and butterflies and tall eucalypts to form the forest canopy. The property adjoins Mount William Creek, which is home to platypus, and other wildlife species known to the region include kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas and emus.
This forest is protected for 100 years with an on-title agreement, meaning it cannot be cut down for any reason. The forest planted at Ledcourt will continue to grow and provide wildlife habit and environmental benefits for generations to come.
Along with their staff, customers and community, Miele is growing hope for our environment. This legally protected forest will thrive beyond this century.
