Miele & Greenfleet Working Together To Grow Climate Hope

It has never been more important to restore nature.

Miele is proud to partner with Greenfleet to plant native forests to restore biodiversity, capture carbon and help fight the impacts of climate change.

Greenfleet has been restoring native forests for over 25 years, planting over 10.8 million trees to create more than 550 forests, which are legally protected for up to 100 years.

Miele has worked with Greenfleet since 2022 in their commitment to environmental action.

The Miele Forest

As part of their commitment to sustainability and creating a better future for our environment, Miele has partnered with Greenfleet to grow the Miele Forest at Ledcourt in Victoria.

Thanks to Miele’s contributions in 2023 and 2024, they are growing two hectares of biodiverse native Australian forest, protected for 100 years.

This forest is growing on Jardwadjali & Djabwurung Country in Central Victoria, adjacent to the northern part of the Grampians National Park. Previously cleared for sheep and cattle grazing, Ledcourt is being revegetated to restore biodiversity and extend habitat for native wildlife.

With some remnant native vegetation already present on the site, Greenfleet worked to restore the cleared areas and bolster the existing ecosystems. We planted ground cover species, flowering plants to attract birds, bees and butterflies and tall eucalypts to form the forest canopy. The property adjoins Mount William Creek, which is home to platypus, and other wildlife species known to the region include kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas and emus.

This forest is protected for 100 years with an on-title agreement, meaning it cannot be cut down for any reason. The forest planted at Ledcourt will continue to grow and provide wildlife habit and environmental benefits for generations to come.

Along with their staff, customers and community, Miele is growing hope for our environment. This legally protected forest will thrive beyond this century.

About Greenfleet & The Work We Do

Greenfleet is a leading not-for-profit organisation and Australia’s first carbon offset provider, protecting our climate by restoring forests in Australia and New Zealand.  We have been delivering climate action since 1997, planting legally protected biodiverse forests to restore native ecosystems and fight the impacts of climate change.

As our forests grow, they help fight the impacts of climate change, improve soil and water quality, and restore habitat for native wildlife, including many endangered species such as Swift Parrots and koalas.

By supporting Greenfleet, you are taking climate action and restoring nature. Our partnerships with local communities and Traditional Owners also support broad benefits for the country and communities in which we live and work.

These images were taken at our Whitehurst forest, in South Gippsland VIC. Greenfleet started revegetating this site in 2012, the second photo taken in 2022 shows its development.
